Education in El Salvador

Education in the country of El salvador is can seem strange to tourists public education is provided by the state for a fee if the students family can afford the cost which is a great contrast to the education system of the United states which offers schooling at no cost.Education is divided into cycles of a 9-2-5 system which is 9 grades broken into 3 cycles with a time of transition to secondary education and highschool. There is also a 2 year or 3 year(for technical courses) which is considered middle education with corresponding degrees 2year and 3 year degrees. The 3 year is an optional education course after obtaining a degree the is a minimum 5 year requirement for a college degree the only public univerity in the country is the University of El Salvador (UES).Even though the state provides public education there is no consistency wihin the school system unlike other more developed countrires where schools are more uniform, for example schools in the more rural areas of the country school tend to be poor in quality and funding unlike schools in cities but can also be of poor quality.
